If You need Help Now!

If you are concerned about any health problems you should talk to your GP [family doctor].  GPs support nine out of ten people with mental health problems.  If after receiving treatment for a period of time your health does not improve your GP will refer you to the mental health or learning disability service either by phone or letter.

If you need urgent care and treatment and your GP is unable to support you, they will refer you to our service.

You can also contact NHS Direct Online.

If you currently use mental health services

As part of your care planning, your care coordinator (the main person who is currently helping you) will give you information on how to get in touch with the mental health services when required.

You should have your care co-ordinators contact details and also a number to contact the service “out of hours”.

If you cannot find these contact details telephone the following and you will be put into contact with the right staff:

St Clements Hospital, Ipswich Tel No: 01473 329000

Wedgwood House , West Suffolk Hospital Tel No: 01284 719700

The Woodlands, 01473 891700

If you are unable to contact anyone and your situation becomes serious you should try and attend your local Accident and Emergency Department

Getting help where you think someone is at immediate risk

If you think someone has, or is in immediate danger of, seriously harming themselves [for instance, they have taken an overdose], call an ambulance immediately.
