our service

The SATS (Suffolk Alcohol Treatment Service) is an easily accessible service which welcomes people from all backgrounds. It provides support to people experiencing difficulties with their use of alcohol who want help to overcome their problem-drinking and to turn their life around.

Our service is run by two teams of highly skilled, enthusiastic, experienced professionals.   Our aim is to offer support and place users’ needs at the centre of the services we provide.

The service has two teams covering the East and West of Suffolk and currently provides:

  • Brief educational one to one support
  • Assistance with detox in the community
  • One to one therapeutic keyworking
  • 12 week group work package
  • Training for other professionals
  • Assessment for residential rehabilitation
  • Self help packs
  • Complimentary therapies

Also in development are:

  • 5 week Educational Group
  • Family/Carer Support
  • Couples Work
  • Aftercare Package

Both teams work with other agencies, including other Alcohol Services, the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies team (IAPT), hospitals and rehabilitation units, community mental health teams, police, probation, childcare services, housing associations, social care services and GP surgeries.

You can self-refer to the service or be referred by a professional.

If you wish to access the service, please complete the forms on this website under Useful Links.
